Concrete to abstract learning

Developing deeper understanding in mathematics.

Children continue to gain a deep understanding following a Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) sequence when teaching maths topics. They start with real world, tangible representations, moving onto representing the problem using a pictorial diagram before then introducing the abstract algorithms and notation.

Consistent approach to the use of the Singapore Bar across the school in the teaching and learning of mathematics concept.
